2007The Dublin Man is the competition winning entry with Antony Gormley to design an iconic sculpture for the Dublin Docklands in Ireland.
The sculpture is a 50m tall structural lattice in the form of a human figure. The concept was developed and digitally sculpted by Tristan Simmonds from the Weaire Phelan bubble packing which was discovered nearby at Trinity College Dublin.
Tristan Simmonds subsequently designed and engineered the €2m project. The project successfully achieved planning but unfortunately has been postponed indefinitely due to Ireland’s current economic crisis.
